Chaka is a powerhouse in both music and the movement. You can find her roots amongst The Black Panthers, serving in the revolution on and off stage. A legend still among us, she blazed a trail that ran for decades….and is still running!
I personally feel many connections to Queen Mother Chaka. She inspired me to dye my crown a burgundy shade while in college. She shares a solar return with my eldest brother. And, she is my sorority sister (Zeta Phi Beta) in case you didn’t know! So, every 23rd of March, 222.9 The Mothership will honor Chaka Khan! Ase.
